What is the function of a cambelt
The cambelt, also known as the timing belt, is crucial for your car's engine. It synchronises the rotation of the crankshaft and camshaft, ensuring that the engine’s valves open and close at the correct times during each cylinder’s intake and exhaust strokes.
Made of rubber with internal teeth, the cambelt meshes with the crankshaft and camshaft gears. Regular replacement is necessary to avoid breakage, which can severely damage the engine.
The main function of the cam belt is to control the timing of the engine's internal combustion processes, making sure the crankshaft and camshaft rotate in sync. If the timing is off, it can cause significant damage to the engine's valves, pistons, or other parts.
